ClinkIt (“we”) connects local brands, creators and freelancers. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, who can see it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account: your name, email or phone number, and profile photo from Google or phone login.
- Profile: what you add — role, city and area, bio, Instagram handle, niches, follower and view counts you enter, business details, freelancer services, packages and prices, portfolio links.
- Private contact: WhatsApp number and email you choose to add.
- Activity: campaigns, applications, bookings, projects, quotes, connections, reviews, saved items, messages and notifications.
- Approximate location (optional): only if you turn it on. We store a point rounded to about 1 km. You can turn it off and delete it any time in Settings.
- Who at ClinkIt can see it: the small ClinkIt team can see account details (name, email, phone, profile) to run, support and keep the app safe. Growth reports use totals (like “80 creators in Agra”). We never sell your data.
What other people can see
- Your public profile (name, photo, city/area, bio, niches, stats you entered, services, ratings and reviews) is visible to logged-in ClinkIt users.
- Your Instagram handle and WhatsApp/phone are shown only after you match, a deal, booking or hire is accepted, or you share them with someone in chat (you can undo that).
- Go Global (creators, optional): off by default. If you turn it on, your profile gets a Global badge and is shown first to creators and brands in other cities when they use City Pass. Only your city is shown. Turn it off any time on Discover or in Profile.
- Your location is never shown. Others only see an approximate distance like “3 km away”, and only if you both turned location on.
- Messages are visible only to the two people in the chat.
Public links and share previews
- Creator public links are off by default. If you turn on “Public profile link” in Settings, anyone with the link can see your name, photo, city/area, bio, niches, follower count, average views, starting price, ClinkIt verification badge, collab prompts and open-to choices.
- Public creator cards exclude the separate Instagram/contact fields, connections, messages and GPS location. Anything you type in a public bio or prompt remains visible, so avoid putting private information there. Share-preview images contain your name, niche and follower count, with no photo.
- Campaigns have public summaries with the business name, city, title, content type, niches, pay/barter terms, deadline and availability. Applications and private brand contacts are not part of the summary.
- You can turn your creator public link off in Settings. We fetch public cards without storing a page cache; turning the link off stops future public reads. Screenshots and previews cached by WhatsApp, search engines or other services may remain outside our control.
Why we use it
- To run ClinkIt: show nearby campaigns, creators and freelancers, process applications and bookings, deliver messages and notifications.
- To keep ClinkIt safe: prevent spam and abuse, and enforce our Terms.
- We do not sell your personal data, and we don’t show third-party ads.
Instagram, YouTube and other accounts
- ClinkIt never scrapes Instagram or YouTube, and never reads your DMs, follower lists, password or private data.
- “Fill it for me” is optional. If you tap it and allow access, we read once: your name, profile photo, follower/subscriber count and (YouTube) total views and video count to estimate average views, plus your bio/description. We use it only to pre-fill your ClinkIt profile, which you can edit.
- The access token is used once and thrown away (Google tokens are revoked immediately). We don’t store it, post anything, or read anything again later. To refresh, you tap again.
- YouTube data is accessed through YouTube API Services. By using it you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service; see the Google Privacy Policy. You can also remove ClinkIt’s access any time at Google security settings.
- Instagram data is read through Meta’s official Instagram API (Business/Creator accounts). You can remove access in Instagram → Settings → Apps and websites.
- Otherwise, follower and view numbers are what you enter.
Payments
- ClinkIt does not currently process payments. Brands, creators, freelancers and clients pay each other directly. Never share OTPs, UPI PINs or bank passwords in chat.
Where data is stored
- Data is stored with our hosting providers (Supabase for database and files, Vercel for the website), protected by access rules so users can only reach what they’re allowed to.
Website analytics
- We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand which public and discovery pages people visit. This does not track the contents of your messages or forms.
- We exclude private account, inbox, notification, saved and admin pages. We remove URL queries and fragments, skip sign-in callbacks, and replace individual profile, campaign and project identifiers before reporting page views.
- Analytics is not loaded when your browser signals Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. We do not send names, email addresses, phone numbers or precise location as analytics events.
Your choices
- Edit or remove profile details any time in Profile.
- Turn location off in Settings — this deletes your stored approximate location.
- Delete your account any time in Settings → Delete my account. It immediately and permanently removes your profile, photo, chats, matches, campaigns, bookings, reviews and location. For a copy of your data, email us (below) — we’ll respond within 30 days.
Children
- ClinkIt is for people aged 18 and over.
